BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT
The faculty of Politics has been in existence since the inception of the college in 1945 along with History and Economics. The Department of Politics was separated in the year 1966 with Sri S.Anjaneyulu as the first Head of the Department.
The Politics subject is offered in almost all Arts groups such as History, Economics and Politics(H.E.P). Social work, Economics and Politics (S.E.P) Philosophy, History and Politics(P.H.Phil) Geography, History and Politics (G.H.P). The Department maintained a sustained strength of students with 2 sections throughout its history. Students of far way places such as Srikakulam and Vizianagaram are also attracted to the Arts Subjects in the D.N.R.College for its academic Excellency.
The strength of the arts students had dwindled considerably in recent times. But our college boosts of good strength in arts subjects because of the capable teaching of the faculty. We claim with great pride that the maximum number of arts faculty in the surroundings educational institutions are our students.
The department of Politics introduced a certificate course in “The Art of Public Speaking” for the benefit of the students of Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses.
